Geraldine Morgan

	Geraldine Jerry Morgan, 94, of Mt. Vernon, died Wednesday, May 17, 2001 at 9:45 a.m. at Jeffersonian Care Center in Mt. Vernon.
	Mrs. Morgan was born January 2, 1907 at Tamaroa, the daughter of Leo D. Holden and Madge (Ing) Holden.  She married Frank B. Morgan on March 17, 1936 and he preceded her in death.
	She was employed for 29 years as a receptionist and secretary for the law firm of Campbell, Furnall, Moore and Jacobsen from September 1958 to November 1987.
	Mrs. Morgan was a devout Christian.  She loved working and was known for her many crafts and keeping her yard and flowers well maintained.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
	Surviving are two daughters, Jean Carls of Sparland, Ill. and Marilyn Vuichard and husband Harold of Mt. Vernon; seven grandchildren, Gerald T. Hawkins and wife Ruth of DuQuoin, Mary Gwen Falkenhein and husband Allen of Overland, Mo., Brother John Sebastian of the Franciscan Monastery in Washington D.C., Ian Hammond and wife Dawn of Wyoming, Ill., Mary N. Hammond of Normal, Valerie A. Shields and husband John R. of St. Peters, Mo. and Darren L. Vuichard and wife Stacy of Mt. Vernon; 10 great-grandchildren, John Hawkins and wife Amorette, Jane Lysell and husband John, Amy Morgenthaler and husband Brad, Hannah Vuichard, Ryan Shields, Brianna Shields, Allyson Vuichard, Ripley Hammond,  Mark Breckenridge; three great-great-grandchildren, Olivia, Calvin and Grace Lysell and two nieces, Jane Gagel and Joann Parkins.
	 She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Patricia L. Hawkins and two sisters, Gladys Lutz and Gwen Barnes.
	Funeral services were Saturday, May 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Hughey Funeral Home with Mr. J. Howard Kraps officiating.  Interment was in Sunset Memorial Cemetery at DuQuoin.
	Friends called after 9 a.m. Saturday morning until the funeral hour at Hughey Funeral Home.
	For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Central Christian Church or to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the Hughey Funeral Home at any time.
